Why does the scenario get stuck and keeps running indefinitely?

It seems that sometimes a User does not terminate properly and the scenario never ends the run.

More information:
I'm running the test locally on my Mac with 50 users. The test is simple: a single HTTP request. When the test duration is over (in my case 1 minute) in some cases the test ends properly (the # Users graph plummets from 50 to 0) but in other cases a User or two remain, and the test does not end. In the latter cases I am forced to close the entire app, even normal Stop does not work.

You would need to share the logs to work out why the few remaining VUs are waiting.

And this is how the Users graph looks. You can see that 49 out of 50 Users were terminated but 1 remains.
